The Village of Prairie du Sac is located on the west bank of the Wisconsin River, approximately 30 miles north of Madison.

The Wisconsin River area serves as a unique nesting ground for eagles in the winter and provides a variety of recreation activities in the summer. The Historic Wollersheim Winery overlooks the eastern bank of the Wisconsin River. Founded in the 1840s, the Wollersheim Winery is a century-old winery and hillside vineyards featuring distinctive regional wines.
